Education & Outreach

We deliver nature education programs for students of all ages. School field trips, outreach programs, and summer nature camp all nurture connections to Baltimore's abundant nature.

Programs

Hands-on programs of all kinds are available to children, adults, and families as we explore the weird and wonderful aspects of nature. Hit the trails, meet animal ambassadors, and discover the treasures in Baltimore's backyard. 

The Forest Preschool

The pilot site for The Forest Preschool forest immersion & childcare programs is in beautiful Gwynns Falls Leakin Park! This immersive early learning program for 18 mos. to 5 year-old children offers natural, playful learning September through May. More BCRP locations are on the way!

Carrie Murray Nature Center is operated by Baltimore City Recreation and Parks (BCRP).

Nature Center Hours:
Monday - Saturday: 8:30am - 4:30pm
Monthly Second Sundays (May-Nov): 8:30am - 4:30pm

Please come visit us during our expanded open hours!


Trail Hours:
Monday - Saturday 8:00am - 4:30pm 
Monthly Second Sundays (May-Nov): 8:00am - 4:30pm 

If you arrive before our Center is open, please pick up trail maps and brochures from the kiosk along the sidewalk.

*On Second Sundays May-November, the Center and campus are closed on the preceding Saturday.
